Weekends & Holidays closed* closed*

* The Help Desk and Accounts Office are open on certain University holidays when classes are in session (e.g., the Help Desk is open on Labor Day, even though it's an official UVa holiday ).

ITC Walk-In Support

ITC provides free walk-in support for notebook/laptop computers whenever classes are in session at libraries around Grounds and at the Thornton Stacks computing lab. We can also answer questions about ITC lab computers and software at the following locations:

These sessions are primarily staffed with ITC Student Consultants. A larger number of ITC staff are available during peak hours at the following locations/times:

  • Clemons Library: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 1 PM–4 PM
  • Brown Library: Tuesdays, Thursdays, 1 PM–4 PM

While primarily addressing network connectivity and operating system issues, ITC staff and consultants are available for other questions as well. No appointment is necessary at these locations. All scheduled sessions end promptly at the indicated time.

Know Before You Go

Before making a special trip to one of the Walk-In Support sessions:

  • Ensure your system is up-to-date with the latest available patches and updates installed.
  • Bring your laptop computer, power supply, and all system disks.
  • Back up all critical data.
