Which Version Should You Download?

This information is detailed on the VPN download page, but you must login and authenticate yourself to access this information and the installer file.

  • For Windows Vista—version 5.0.04.0300
  • For Windows XP—version 5.0.04.0300
  • For Macintosh MacOS 10.4 (also works for Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6) —version 4.9.01
  • For Macintosn MacOS 10.5 and 10.6 - Cisco AnyConnect is recommended
  • For Macintosh 10.3—version 4.6.04
  • For Windows 64-bit operating systems (also works, but not required for 32-bit Windows) - Cisco AnyConnect
  • For satellite-based connections - Cisco AnyConnect if it is supported by your operating system.

Known Issues by Operating System

  • Windows Vista note for System Administrators: The Hospital profile will not work on Vista. Cisco details many caveats for Version 5 on Vista.
  • Windows XP: You will need to download and run either the Windows SP2 Firewall Script or the Network Setup Tool.
  • Mac OS X 10.6: No known problems, but upgraders from earlier operating systems will need to uninstall the client and reinstall it.
  • Mac OS X 10.5: No known problems.
  • Mac OS X 10.4: No known problems.
  • 64-bit Windows: Users must use the Cisco AnyConnect client.
