Connecting Wirelessly to the UVa Network

[Nov 23, 2009 14:09] Web access to Microsoft Live@edu accounts now works.

Wireless at UVa

Connecting wirelessly allows you access the Internet without the physical restrictions of being near a wall outlet for a wired Ethernet connection. Wireless coverage is generally available in most areas of Grounds, but just as with cell phones, you may encounter a few dead spots.

Wireless works better for simpler tasks, so save video-conferencing, audio or video streaming, and other very large file transactions for your wired, Ethernet connection. ITC does not recommend using a wireless connection when dealing with critical information or systems.
